Many of my clients have voiced objections to “faking it until you make it.” Most say things like “I don’t want to be fake” or “I tried it but I just felt stupid.” While these are valid concerns, they are still terrible excuses for not equipping yourself with a simple (and very useful) personal development tool.

In this TedTalks video, social psychologist Amy Cuddy explains how our body language can quickly change our hormone levels as well as our moods. This is not only fascinating but it confirms what I’ve been saying for years. Check it out and then go work on your “power poses.”

I came across this very interesting video prank on youtube that showcases an interesting quirk of human nature. It’s no surprise that women are highly likely to be attracted to “high status men” (professional athletes, movie stars, musicians, etc) and would typically jump at the chance to be courted by one of these guys. Dan Gilbert on Happiness

    Author: Jay Cataldo

In this video, Harvard Psychologist Dan Gilbert challenges the idea that we’ll be miserable if we don’t get what we want.  He proposes that our “psychological immune system” lets us feel truly happy even when things fail to work out the way we hoped they would.  Interesting stuff.
