Recently, a team of Stanford researchers concluded an 80 year-long study on longevity. What they discovered was quite shocking.
According to their research, stress doesn’t necessarily shorten your lifespan, marriage isn’t a golden ticket to old age and, surprisingly, the “don’t worry, be happy” crowd died the earliest.
But guess what they found to be the most important behavioral predictor of longevity?
Interestingly enough, it was conscientiousness.
Conscientious people (who are efficient, organized, hard-working, thorough and dependable) consistently lived longer (and were healthier) than all of the other groups in the study.
We can simplify this by saying that the #1 most important thing you can do to extend your lifespan is focus on making high-quality decisions.
So what might get in the way of this?
Even though chronic and excessive stress won’t necessarily kill you, it’s widely known that it leads to poor decision making. One study by the National Institute of Health found that stress causes us to switch from “goal-oriented” responses to “automatic, habitual” responses (i.e., making snap decisions without proper consideration). This lack of foresight prevents us from seeing the long-term consequences of our poor choices and leads to undesirable outcomes (and even more stress).
In other words, you might be consistently making terrible decisions… and not even know it.
If that’s not bad enough, stress also impairs our concentration, reduces our creativity and makes us prone to self-criticism and a pessimistic mindset. A stressed person is a low-functioning person. And it goes without saying that anyone who can’t get out of first gear is going to have a tough time achieving their goals.
So what’s the best way to avoid these negative consequences and get on the fast track to becoming a centenarian?
Easy. We need to learn how to relax our body and mind on command.
When we’re calm and relaxed, we’ll not only feel better throughout our day, but we’ll also be more efficient at work, have more satisfying relationships and be more driven to go after the things we want.
And of course, we’ll make higher quality decisions which will lead to a longer, healthier life.
Learning how to relax is absolutely vital to having a happy, successful future. And what better way to start off the New Year than with this new skill tucked firmly away in your tool belt?
Teaching people how to achieve deep states of relaxation is something I’ve been doing for many years. It’s incredibly powerful and one of the few practices that changes the lives of EVERYONE I teach it to.
I’m currently offering a private, two-session program which will help you achieve a state of complete mental and physical relaxation, even if you’re the most stressed-out person around. In addition, I’ll be teaching you how to recreate this peaceful state of mind, instantaneously, whenever you might need it.
So how does this all work?
In our first two-hour session, I’ll first make you feel like you’re floating on air. Once you’re feeling fantastic, I’ll show you how to quickly recreate this zen-like state all on your own. Afterwards, you’ll spend a week practicing before we have our follow-up session.
In session #2, not only will I make sure you have the process mastered, but I’ll also teach you three more powerful stress-reduction techniques, which will help you weather any storm that comes your way. After these two sessions, you’ll find yourself feeling calmer, happier and more resourceful, day in and day out, without having to spend twenty years meditating in a Tibetan monastery.
And while my office is located in New York City, you won’t have to worry about travel expenses since we can work together in the privacy of your home via webcam. You won’t even need to get off the couch (literally).
So what’s the total investment?
In honor of the New Year, this program will be discounted for the next two weeks. You also have up to five months to use your sessions so I recommend that you lock them in now before the price goes up.
“10 Seconds to Total Relaxation” Stress Reduction Package: Only $600
P.S. These sessions are also fully guaranteed: if you don’t feel that I’ve helped you achieve complete physical and mental relaxation, then I’ll promptly refund your investment in full. Your happiness is my #1 concern.
Wishing you a happy, healthy and stress-free 2015,
-Jay
