Faking Celebrity Status = More Dates?Author: Jay Cataldo05 6th, 2012
I came across this very interesting video prank on youtube that showcases an interesting quirk of human nature. It’s no surprise that women are highly likely to be attracted to “high status men” (professional athletes, movie stars, musicians, etc) and would typically jump at the chance to be courted by one of these guys. But is there a way for us “normal” men to flip on this pre-programmed female desire switch even though our reality tv show deal fell through the cracks? Keep reading… read comments (0)
Dating Coach Gets Dumped On Valentine’s DayAuthor: Jay Cataldo02 14th, 2011
If you were following my rants and raves last year around this time, then you’re well aware of how much I dislike the pseudo-holiday known as Valentine’s Day. Sure, I could go on and on and rehash my gripes but my perspective hasn’t changed one bit since last year. What HAS changed, however, is the fact that I’m currently in a relationship and my girlfriend doesn’t exactly share my sentiments. So it’s safe to assume that today… the sh*t is about to hit the fan.

Q&A: I Was Betrayed!Author: Jay Cataldo04 17th, 2010
Have you ever been betrayed by an ex? Hurts pretty bad doesn’t it?
Q&A: Help! I’m Emotionally Vulnerable…Author: Jay Cataldo04 15th, 2010
Q: “Hi Jay. I could really use some tools to help spotting the kinds of women who are genuinely interested in love, intimacy and friendship, as opposed to the ones who have a power-oriented or sadistic/masochistic attitude towards sex and intimacy. I’ve been involved with a few of the latter (one of whom turned out to have been an incest victim) and I do not want to go through that experience ever again. Also it seems a lot of women learn to see emotional vulnerability in men as a sign of weakness to be exploited and ridiculed.
SingleEdition.com InterviewAuthor: Jay Cataldo03 28th, 2010
I was recently interviewed by the gorgeous Sherri Langburt of SingleEdition.com. Check out what I had to say about getting over approach anxiety, hooking up your bachelor pad and pulling yourself out of the black hole of the ”friend zone.”
Valentines Day Is Officially DestroyedAuthor: Jay Cataldo02 15th, 2010
It seems my Anti-Valentine’s Day campaign was rather successful. If you want to take a look at the damage, check out the links below…
Valentines Day Sucks! – Lets Get Rid Of It Once And For AllAuthor: Jay Cataldo01 20th, 2010
I have some good news for all you Valentines Day haters out there. As I’m sure you know from reading my last V-Day post, I’m on a mission this year to destroy this pseudo-holiday once and for all.
So here’s the good news… The ever-so-lovely Miss DeAnna Lorraine (www.deannalorraine.com) recently had me on her show to explain just why I hate Valentine’s Day so much. Since every guy on the planet needs to hear this, I’ve decided to make the recording available (at no charge) for a limited time, so fill out the form below and download the podcast while it’s still available.
NYC Dating Magic Part 2Author: Jay Cataldo01 12th, 2010

Here’s the breakdown of our 3 day adventure (a huge thanks to my good friend Plato for helping me concoct the itinerary):
NYC Dating Magic Part 1Author: Jay Cataldo01 11th, 2010
Today, I’d like to answer a question I’m frequently asked by my male clients.
“Ok, Jay, She finally said yes. So what do I do now?”
Aka: “It took me three months to convince her to go out with me but I have no clue where I should take her. What do you suggest?”

Falling In Love Can Be Hazardous To Your HealthAuthor: Jay Cataldo11 6th, 2009

About a week back, I put up a tweet on twitter that got everyone all riled up. I’ll admit that it was a bit controversial, even for me. It read:
“The more frustrated men I work with, the more I believe that falling in love is the biggest mistake a man can make in a relationship.”
And of course, everybody started freaking out. While I did get a few “amen brotha”s, most of the responses (from both men and women) accused me of being “crazy”, “cynical” and an all-around poor excuse for a relationship coach. lol Pretty funny actually, but I understand why everyone was so upset. I quickly followed up with this: Read the rest of this entry »

Hi all,
This blog was initiated by dating coach Jay Cataldo (@JayCataldo on twitter). Jay has done a great thing in inviting others to contribute to his dating blog. He has been warm and generous with me especially when we probably don’t agree that much about some matters, but to those readers new to my blog let me introduce myself. Read the rest of this entry »
More Bad Facebook MannersAuthor: Jay Cataldo05 19th, 2009
I recently got to watch a breakup between a husband and wife unfold on Facebook which played out like a mini soap opera. What made it especially interesting was the fact that the guy is a pickup coach, very similar to that guy Mystery from the VH1 show “The Pickup Artist.”
It’s Not Me… They’re All Crazy!!!Author: Jay Cataldo05 8th, 2009
Let’s face it. Women are completely insane… at least from a man’s point of view. What guy wouldn’t agree that it’s easier to solve a Rubik’s cube in the midst of an acid trip than to decipher even a single sentence’s worth of undertones coming from the mouth of a female?

The Vaynerchuk ExperienceAuthor: Jay Cataldo04 10th, 2009
Whether you happen to be dating someone new or you’ve been with the same girl for years, it’s a good idea to break away from doing the same old boring “date stuff” and occasionally introduce something new and exciting into the mix. To help get your creative juices flowing, this dating coach is gonna share with you one of his favorite date ideas that contains (what he considers to be) the three most important components of a quality date:
Watch “The Dog Whisperer” and Become Irresistible to WomenAuthor: Jay Cataldo03 8th, 2009
One of my friends recently turned me on to the show “The Dog Whisperer” with Cesar Millan and I was instantly hooked. I’ve learned a ton from watching this guy in action and his brand of “dog psychology” has helped me rehabilitate my younger brother’s rambunctious beagle. But as fun as it is to modify a stubborn dog’s behavior, it was the realization that these same techniques can be applied to romantic relationships that led to all the wear and tear on my TiVo.
Life Coaching? Say What?Author: Jay Cataldo02 19th, 2009
The first question I’m asked when people find out what I do sounds something like this: “Life coaching? Hmm… what’s that all about?” And my response is always the same: “Honestly… I really couldn’t tell you.”
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not your typical life coach. I’m nowhere near fifty years old, I’m as politically incorrect as you can get, and I wasn’t invited to be a talking head on The Secret.
